A. Children Reaching Age Three

  1. For a child with an IFSP who will be making the transition from an early intervention program into the special education program of the School District at age three, the School District shall ensure that either an IEP or the child’s IFSP is in effect on his/her third birthday. A representative of the School District shall participate in the transition meeting.
  2. For a child without an IFSP:
    1. If the child is referred at least 60 school days prior to his/her third birthday, and determined eligible, the School District shall ensure that either an IEP or an IFSP is in effect on his/her third birthday.
    2. If the child is referred with fewer than 60 school days remaining before his/her third birthday, or after that date, the School District shall follow the procedures herein to determine whether or not an evaluation is warranted, and if so, to conduct an evaluation.
  3. If a child’s third birthday occurs during the summer, the IEP Team shall determine when the School District’s services to the child will begin.

B. Children Reaching Age Six
